Saturday, October 31- Matthew 28:16-20

16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
-Wonder what this looked like. How did they worship him?

18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
-This is a pretty big statement. It's kind of like at the end of a wedding ceremony where the pastor says, "by the power given to be by the state..." "all" is a very big and inclusive word. Thats a lot of power.

19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
-This is the charge that the disciples were given to do under the authority of God. Make people to be like them. Obviously having them be saved.

20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
-Job in discipleship is to teach them adn to have them obey the commands given. In this task God is always with them.
-I'd imagine this charge would pretty much be the same for us. Help people to love Christ. Teach them and teach them to obey. That is love for God. Evangilism is a scary topic for some. People don't like to put themselves out for criticism. But if it's commanded of us we should probably make a little more effort to do it. Especially if its for the one we love.
