6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
-We speak with wisdom, but not worldly wisdom. Or maybe its just wise compared to the foolish wisdom of this world. Worldly wisdom is different because it seeks after different ends. It's wise to gain wealth, power, and stuff for this world. Heavenly wisdom thinks about glory. So the wisdom is different, but heavenly wisdom is better cause it has eternal value.
7No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
-God had a plan for his wisdom. It's a strange plan but it seems to work.
8None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
-Since the rulers had a worldly wisdom they didn't see what Jesus was doing.
9However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him"— 10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
-God made the incomprehensible, comprehensible for us thru his spirit. It's not us being wise, but we were blind. God opened our eyes so we could see. I dunno why people like to think of themselves as so smart. People try to glory in all kinds of things that don't really matter much. They are nice things to have, but to put the pride of life in it will make that person fall short.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
-more on this next time.
