Tuesday, October 6- Psalm 7:1-5

1 O LORD my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me,
-David was a chased after guy. He had moments in his life that were good and some that weren't so hot. In his down times when things were going bad he sought refuge in God. This is something that we must really learn. God is the one who is in control. David had faith that God would deliver him.

2 or they will tear me like a lion and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me.
-This is the dire consequence of what might happen to him. Sounds pretty serious to me.

3 O LORD my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands-
-David knew that there was no guilt on him in this case.

4 if I have done evil to him who is at peace with me or without cause have robbed my foe- 5 then let my enemy pursue and overtake me; let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust. Selah
-At least David is honest with himself here. He is willing to take the consequences of sin if it is his own. Most likely its not because otherwise his tune might be different.
-Tough times call for David to turn to God. He realizes that God is the one who judges or creates judgment. We must put our real hope in God. Easier said than done.
