Saturday, October 10- Philemon

I'm not gonna paste the whole book here. A few days ago Esther and I were supposed to discuss this togehter over the phone. We got caught up talking about other Bible stuff so we passed on it. Philemon was the first pokemon. Aside from that he's just a small page in the Bible. It kind of reminds me of a recommendation letter. Thats because there's this dude name Onesimus and he did some bad stuff once upon a time. He spent a bunch of time with Paul and got rehabilitated. After changing, Paul writes this letter to Philemon to put Onesimus back into service under Philemon.

Some verses that stood out to me were:
6I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.
-More of us, including myself, should be more active in sharing our faith. The reason for this is so that we understand stuff better. It's like when we teach somebody something we learn it best. This is true whether it be math, science, anything.

11Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
-This could be like a lot of us. We're useless and need to be made useful.

18If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me.
-Problems between people have always been around. Its nothing new. Mediating between relationships is so important. Paul is the third party that steps in that is sometimes so important. Sometimes people have to put feelings aside for the sake of the gospel. Every relationship that we have in church is for the sake of the gospel. The church sometimes destroys the gospel by our relationships. We have to be careful and fix these things.

-I kind of wonder what Philemon thinks by the end of this letter. It's a big question mark to wonder what happens after this. Does Philemon accept him? Does he still have a hard heart and reject him? It's not easy to put feelings aside. People are so stubborn for bad reasons. Even more stubborn for good reasons. But whatever the reason Christ died for them all and we should forgive and let the gospel shine.
