Friday, October 30- 1 Corinthians 3:1-4

1Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly—mere infants in Christ.
-Spirituality takes maturity as well. It's not an instant mix. Some people remain infants in Christ and don't mature as they should. This is a dangerous place to be because infants are so weak an vulnerable. It's comfortable being a baby but we also need to grow up to be normal.

2I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.
-Harsh rebuke. They should be more mature, but they are that young. Many people in our churches are like that also.

3You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?
-Paul calls them worldly. This is the exact opposite of what they should be. They no longer belong to the world. Worldliness in this case is defined by jealousy and quarreling. They should be above this but they're not. Many people in the church are the same way.

4For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men?
-What a silly thing to argue over. Many times the things we argue over are the same. Very silly. We need to think about our spirituality and grow up. Start eating meat instead of milk all the time. It's more work to eat, but it satisfies differently.
