In this passage Jesus continues to teach at the feast. The people who wanted to kill him were having trouble because many believed him. Jesus says a lot of things that would be quite confusing to the people. On the last day of the feast he makes a great declaration telling people to believe in him.
Again, if i were in this situation it seems like it would be so hard. Someone who basically claims he is God. That's a hard thing to swallow. I'm sure the miracles would help. But I guess as long as your desire was for God then belief would work out. The people who were against him were so focused on themselves which is the reason they were blind. We need to go out spread the gospel as Jesus did. As crazy as the gospel may sound it is the way and the truth.
