John 7:1-13

In this passage a feast was coming up. Jesus brothers suggested to him that he go to the feast and show off his miracles. It sounds as though they almost said it mockingly. Jesus didn't want to go up with them so he stayed behind and left later. At the feast there was a lot of talking about him.

From this passage I learned that the life of someone who lives for righteousness isn't easy. There are so many that hate righteousness in subtle or direct ways. Life then seems very much like life now. Lots of people talking and throwing their opinions around with little real knowledge of the situation. Obviously it must've been difficult for them when a man claims he's the messiah. But if he was performing amazing miracles there's at least something to think about.
