Tuesday, September 22- 1 John 5:6-12

6This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
-Jesus came in body and spirit. The Holy Spirit also confirms this.

7For there are three that testify:
8the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
-All of these confirm who Jesus was and what he did.

9We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.
-It's seems a little unfair that God can testify about himself but God is God so it's allowable.

10Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.
-This shows that you believe. If you are in agreement from the heart about these things then you believe. Unbelief means that you don't agree with what God has said or done. By doing this you call God a liar.

11And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
-This is what God testifies to. We're so lucky to have these things. Many people will die and never know the cross. We should make much of the life we've been given.

12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
-Life is in the son. Not possessions, money, fame, sex or anything else. The Son is life. It's an amazing thing to know you have life. It brings security and peace. We're lucky.
