-I like taking my time getting through this stuff. I feel busy now a days.
11This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
-This is a no brainer of what we should be doing. This is what we heard from the start. This is also what we're reminded of now.
12Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous.
-Murder and hate are the opposites of what we should be doing. A bad attitude towards our brother is as much as murder. This is who we're compared to when we fail to love one another.
13Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.
-This should be expected in some circumstances. When we run in the opposite direction as everyone else we'll ruffle some feathers.
14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.
-This is the mark of one who is saved. Love for the family of God. We know we are not saved if we fail to love.
15Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.
-As Jesus did, equating hate to murder. That's a strong thing to do.
-So the moral of the story: love...hate is a real bad thing and puts you in a real bad place.
