Jesus loves me! This I know,
for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong;
they are weak, but he is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
-I was thinking about this song today because simple songs are sometimes full of meaning. We teach this song to kids because more than anything we want them to know that Jesus loves them. Maybe we should teach this songs to adults again, because they/we need to be reminded of this. Jesus loves us. This is something that we know. We know this because, first and foremost, the Bible tells us that this is true.
-Little ones, including us, belong to him. We have been chosen from before the world began to be his. God loses none that have been given to him. He is a faithful shepherd. Jesus puts a seal on us guaranteeing our salvation.
-We are weak. We make so many mistakes. We constantly fail. We are totally unworthy. We're not very good at being Christians. But, he is strong to carry us.
-Even though we don't deserve. Even though we fail constantly. We still say that Jesus loves us. And we say it over and over because we know its true. We say it again because he first loved us. We say it because we're commanded to do it. And we know its true because the Word says so.

I love children songs and movies- you don't realize what you're singing about and watching until you grow up and think back at it all. And then it hits you that all those things collectively made you the person you are today.
