Wednesday, April 1- Romans 5:6-11

6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
-Guess that means there could've been a wrong time? :P
-It is a bit much to think that we have some kind of power before God. I think we often think to much of ourselves. We can only think something of ourselves in Christ. He is our value.
-Why would Christ die for us?

7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
-This is like my question I just asked, but a lot more confusing sounding. It's still an amazing thought that the righteous would die for the godless.

8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
-This is all a demonstration of God's love. He shows it to us/models it for us so that we might do the same. Can we love people in their sin? It's hard, but the power of God compels us.

9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!
-Justified thru his death. not by law, not by works, but thru Christs sacrifice. This justification saves us from God's punishment. whew, that was close.

10For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
-Two things going on here...something as a result of his death and something as a result of his life.
-From his death we have been reconciled. From his life we shall be saved.
-Christ died for us, but he also lived for us.

11Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
-Rejoicing is the proper response. Think about the reconciliation you have received and rejoice.
-Really consider it.
