20The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
-the purpose of the law was to increase trespass (an unlawful act). its odd that that is what the law is for because u'd think the law exists to stop sin. This is all accounted for by more grace. now that's something to be thankful for. God's grace is enough for us.
21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
-In our dead bodies, sin is the ruler. Sin wins there no contest. if an unbeliever try's to fight sin, they will lose.
-Grace happens thru righteousness. When righteousness happens, grace happens. When this happens, eternal life happens. This is only thru Jesus Christ and nobody else.
-So we can be thankful for the law because it shows us our sin, but the gospel/grace of God shows us the way. Remember the faithfulness God shows to us. Even tho we deserve nothing, he works for us.
