Sunday, April 26- Romans 8:5-8

5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
-Clear analysis of two sides. Either people have a spiritual mindset or a natural mindset. not a combination of both.

6The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;
-the result of the natural mindset is death. The result of the spiritual mindset is life and peace. Very distinct results. no gray, but very black and white. There is consequence for our minds.

7the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.
-There is no peace between the natural mind and God. They are in direct opposition to each other. There is no possibility of submission to God in this mind state.

8Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
-This is a big statement. Key word being cannot. This natural mind in no way can be pleasing to God. All their actions are not good toward God. We might think that even non-christians do good things, but this is not the case. To the unpure all things are unpure.
