In this passage Paul is telling Titus to teach sound doctrine. He goes on and lists what to teach to different people. Older men, older women, young men, and slaves.
From this passage I can learn that things don't really change much over time. Whatever people struggled with way back then isn't to different from what people struggle with today. It's the same issues over and over again. In this Paul also teaches how to teach. With the people he is to set the example so that others may follow. In all his teaching Titus is to pretty much teach so that the people he taught can teach others.
