Paul writes to Philemon. Paul thanks God for him. Prays that he'd be active in his evangelism. Doing this will give him a better understanding of the gospel. His life has encouraged Paul and others. Paul tells him he could tell him to do something, but instead he uses love to ask him to.
From this passage I can learn to evanagelize to strengthen my faith. From the simple life of an almost obscure character he does much to encourage the people around him thru the life that he lives. Even though we may not think we're very significant it's important to live faithfully becuase we don't know who we may be effecting or encouraging.
