7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
-Spiritual gifts are given for the good of the group, not just the individual. So if the gift isn't being used for the good of all then it is wasted in many aspects.
8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
-Some different examples of gifts. These are not extraordinary, but they are none the less extremely important to the body.
9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
-Healing would be a little more extraordinary because it's not normal everyday. Still it is for the common good. Even though it is miraculous it shouldn't be regarded as more important than any of the other gifts. The user prolly has more responsiblity to be humble if he has this one.
10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
-More of the miraculous kinds.
11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
-All these are given by the one spirit who has given them for the common good of all. The spirit determines who gets what. That means that not everyone is going to have any one of them or all of them. Just like some people are tall some are short, but not everyone can be everything. These are given by the Spirit, not by our own determination.
