11These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.
-Warning. warning. warning. Hot coffee, wet floor, all things we sort of pay attention to and if we fail to we will be in trouble. Same applies here. Guess some of us are doomed to repeat the past because we live as unwise.
12So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!
-Re-evaluate where you're at. Don't think that we're always so firm. Sometimes we're in more of a trap then we might think. We're not living versus chance, but versus an enemy that wants to kill us and a sinful nature that doesn't look out for our best interest.
13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
-When evil does come knocking we should know this verse. Sometimes we think it's impossible. But it isn't impossible. We can bear it. A way out doesn't mean we'll always be stronger than it ourselves. Sometimes the way out is a friend helping us. Or Prayer. Not just us being strong. We need to be wise to the problem, and also humble to the solution. We shouldn't be defeated so easily.
