11In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.
-Both man and woman need each other.
12For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.
-Kind of an equalizer statement. Before man can think to highly of himself, the man comes from the woman as well.
13Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?
-This is a hypothetical question where the answer is supposed to be no. And I'd assume that it was supposed to be an obvious no.
14Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,
-Wonder if this is more in regards to a man wanting to be like a woman or just long hair in general. I also wonder if samson's covenant to not cut his hair was different.
15but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.
-Again the obvious answer to this is supposed to be yes. Long hair is a natural covering. So I guess in general if a woman wants to honor God with her hair it's prolly better if its long. This could probably be a topic of controversy cause people will have strong opinion of it.
16If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.
-Paul lays down the law here. It's not something to be questioned at all. Interesting point to take such a strong position on. But the greater topic at hand is headship here.
