Wednesday, November 11- 1 Corinthians 6:1-6

1If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?
-We should be able to resolve conflict within the church. The church should be better than anyone at resolving conflict.

2Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?
-This is even more so the case because one day we will be judging the world. It shouldn't be the other way around.

3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!
-Even more of a slap in the face to our own immaturity in dealing with issues is that this is how responsible we'll be one day to judge cases.

4Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church!
-People of any wisdom in the church should be better than anyone in the world to judge cases. Anyone with Christ in their heart should be able to judge better than the world because the goal is to glorify Christ.

5I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?
-Paul again is being pretty harsh to the Corinthians.

6But instead, one brother goes to law against another—and this in front of unbelievers!
-Here's the big problem with this, we ruin our testimony before the world. With any legal issues. We should know how to forgive, work out, and love better than the world. With Christ's example we should be able to work it out.
