12"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything.
-We can do stuff. But not everything that we do with our Christian freedom is good for us. Things that master us in our freedom are espcially bad.
13"Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
-Things are meant for each other. Food goes in the stomach, that's a natural thing. Both are not eternal tho. Similar to the food and the stomach is the body and the Lord. We think that sex is meant to fill the body, but the Lord is first. Sex is ok for the body, but not in immorality.
14By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.
-We are God's property. We should be conscience of that. It's not just meaningless.
15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!
-Our bodies are important. We can't just do as we wish with them because we think that they are perishable. There is something spiritual that happens when we do things with our bodies.
16Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."
-This is a strange reality. Two becoming one. This makes a lot of people one that shouldn't be. This is why God was so serious about rape and sex in old testament law.
17But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
-We are one flesh with God as well. We need to respect that and be careful how we live our lives.
