Tuesday, November 11- 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

9I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—
-Warning warning warning. From reading his letter I think that we associate with sin to easily. guess its so common in our society that we tend to just let it slide, but we need to be more careful.

10not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.
-Paul clarifies a little.

11But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
-Problem with this person is that they think they can live two lives. People are so influential. We really need to watch out or we may stumble as well.

12What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
-We are to judge. Outside the church they are sinners so they don't have any standard to live to. Inside they do have a standard so they should be more careful in how they live. As well we should be careful how we live.

13God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you.
-The wicked man belongs on the outside because he has no morals. His works don't prove his salvation unless he is willing to repent. Bottom line, we need to take sin seriously.
