Tuesday, November 3- 1 Corinthians 3:16-22

16Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? 17If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
-As builders we need to construct the temples of God the best we can. When we think about the ancient churches and temples they took tons of time and effort to build as beautifully as possible. This is the same effort we should put into building each other up.

18Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise.
-Our pride makes us bad builders. The fool that trusts in God is much better off than the prideful man who thinks he is wise.

19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness";
-Again, like a few days ago, the wisdom of this world is different because the end goal is different. Worldly wisdom is so different than God's wisdom. God's wisdom is better cause the end is better. Worldly wisdom cannot compare.

20and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile."
-Worldly man's effort are futile. They get nowhere in the end.

21So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours, 22whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
-Again turning to the silly argument that was causing division in the church. If we have Christ that is what is important. We have to step back from the things that cause division in the church. Most things are so inconsequential in the large scheme of things. Many times its man's own pride that causes sin in the church.
