Tuesday, November 24- 1 Corin 7:32-35

32I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairs—how he can please the Lord.
-Our highest aim in life is to glorify God. God can be glorified thru our activities, but our activities can also be more or less glorifying. It looks like in this case 100% focus on God's affairs is better than marriage activities that may glorify God.

33But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife—
-Of course there's nothing wrong about pleasing the wife, It's just less direct God time.

34and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord's affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband.
-Same deal other way around.

35I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.
-Undivided attention to God is great, marriage is also good. It's just something to think about. Marriage now a days is the norm in many circumstances, but someone who honors God thru staying single should be thought highly of.
-hmm...i still wanna be married one day. Hear that esther...better get ready for me to think about how I can please you one day.
