15But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.
-So again, an believer shouldn't leave a marriage if the other is willing to stay, but if the unbeliever wants to leave they are not bound together. In some ways it'd be a shame that they couldn't work things out, but things happen.
16How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?
-Here's the big reason to stay together. It was a mistake to marry in the first place, but this possibility still exists. Marriage must be so tough when you get yoked unequally. People moving opposite ways in life because their core values don't match. Or one's core values get compromised. That's no way to live.
