Jonah 2:1-10

In this passage jonah is saved by the Lord. He has quite the change of heart for someone who was so stubborn. He seemed so unemotional about throwing himself overboard. In all this I guess he really wanted to live. He was very appreciative about being saved. He truly recognizes God as his savior. This is what it took to change Jonah's heart and God did it. It's amazing sometimes the extent we run from God. So many stories of people who grind their lives away till they are nothing until they turn to God who saves them from nothingness. He sounds like a completely different person though. Almost like David composing a psalm. Now his heart is right to serve the Lord.

This is one instance where we can see the benefit of suffering. How God uses hardship to bring about good purpose. Good for the sailors and eventually good for Jonah. Hopefully we can learn from this and trust God sooner instead of having to be strung out first. God has such an awesome purpose for Jonah if he would just accept it. And likewise God has a awesome purpose for us as well.
