Genesis 4:3-24
in this passage cain and able brought offerings to the Lord. God accepted able's but rejected cains. Cain was pretty sad about this. This is where it gets interesting because God has a little conversation with him. He pretty much lays down what sin is all about. This is what we have to pay attention to also. lots of times we just want to do it our way. sometimes our way is great, but sometimes it's not. This time it wasn't and the thing about sin is that it crouches and desires to have. the short answer is to rule over it when it gets there. we see immediately here that cain fails to rule over sin. Cain murders able. Another interesting insight from God is that that blood cries out to God. God issues out judgment to cain and then there is this genealogy which seems very random. at the end there's this strange quote by Lamech. very odd. I'll look more into it later. But I guess the lesson learned here is in the way sin works. think of sin crouching, but we must rule over it.
