In this passage adam and eve are on the run from God. It's so much like little kids who just did something wrong. the parents can smell the wrong doing but the kids are nowhere to be found. God finally tracks them down. God has his little conversation with them which sounds exactly like a parent and little kids again. Then the blame game happens. after hearing from the little children God dispenses his judgment. This is how sin is though. I understand why we hide from God, but we really shouldn't. It probably made it worse that they hid from God. Better to come clean than to run. It's just like COPS on TV.
We need to stop running from the law and let God do his job.
