Genesis 3:1-5

In this passage satan comes on the scene in the form of a serpent. He comes to tempt eve. The strategy he uses is doubt. He tries to cast doubt in her mind about what God had said. From verse 2 she was obviously taught what was correct about the tree. God was the one that said it to her. Then satan switches from doubt to lies about what God had said. This 1-2 punch is something that satan probably uses a lot to cause us to fall. First doubt then lies. We should watch for this pattern in our own lives.

From entertainment to gossip to points of views this strategy is powerful to cause us to sin.
