Matthew 5:17-20

In this passage Jesus begins by teaching that he is the fulfillment of the law from the old testament. The law is still important we shouldn't ignore it, but since JEsus is the fulfillment of it we're not condemned by it. The law won't disappear until the end so it's still important to know and understand. Once we're in heaven we won't need the law anymore because we'll be in heaven. We can't ignore the law. It's so important that there is a weight and judgment attached to them. In some ways the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were the most holy, but since they missed the point they were the least. Our righteousness will surpass them if we understand the true meaning of God's word instead of just doing rules. Love God.
