In this passage it is the tail end of the supper. Jesus talks about his betrayer and they ask who it is. Jesus points out that it is Judas but again they don't understand completely. He gives them a command to love one another. And then explains a little of his future in a cryptic way. Peter says he would follow him anywhere but Jesus knows that peter will be quick to deny him.
From this passage I can learn that Jesus has everything under control. Even his betrayer he knows. No situation is outside his power and that would be the same for us. Judas is an interesting character again because he plays the part of a disciple perfectly. None of the others suspect him at all of being a betrayer even though Jesus made it pretty clear. It's easy to see in retrospect, but I guess Judas wasn't that bad of a person. There are many so called Christians exactly the same. Doesn't rock the boat, does what's supposed to be done, but is really not a true follower of Christ. On the other hand there are Christians like Peter that constantly put their foot in their mouth. We're so foolish either way, but better to be foolish like Peter.
