John 14:25-31

In this passage Jesus speaks with his disciples. He begins by telling them about he Holy Spirit which is to come. He tells his disciples that he leaves them peace. Because of it they shouldn't be afraid of anything. Christ's going is something that the disciples should be glad over because Jesus is going somewhere good. He tells them this prophetically so that the disciples will know that he was in control of the whole situation. He's also proving that he's obedient to the Father.

Christ's peace which he leaves with the disciples is something they can depend on. Christ leaves it with them. How he leaves peace with them is a little bit of a mystery, but if he says he does they should and we should take comfort in it. Christ also tells us of what is going to happen in the future in the Bible. These are things that we can look to for peace just as the disciples do with the things Jesus said to them. When those things came to pass they could rest on Christs peace just as we can. Peace is a wonderful thing. Sometimes we forget its value till we really need it.
