In this passage Peter denies Jesus 3 times as he had prophesied. At the same time Jesus is questioned by the high priest. Jesus tells them everything he has done he did plainly for all to see. He wonders why they question him. He gets hit for it and asks why they hit him because he didn't do anything worth getting hit over. They send Jesus to Caiaphas.
-From this passage I can learn that Justice is important. Jesus questions them because he was arrested for no real reason. He is insulted and beaten but still stands for a reason why. They can't really give him one so he's moved around to different places. Jesus turns the other cheek, but still is looking for justice. He's not just getting beaten without explanation. From Peters side of the story I can learn that we are not that dependable. Even if man says we will do something it doesn't always happen because we have weak wills. It's sad to see him deny Jesus, but we do the same things by our actions. We need to stand up for the God we believe in around all our lives. It's easy to let things pass, but we should stand up for Christ as we would our family.
