-Paul here talks about how a married couple should act. He talks about the structure of how the family should work. Just as Jesus is head of the church, the same is true about husbands and wives. Husbands are to love their wives similarly to how Christ loves the church. Loving wife is equated to loving self. Just as christ takes care of the church, so the husband his wife.
-Christ is very intimate with the church. So much so that it is a profound mystery. Husbands should show this kind of love to their wives. It is a very balanced love. It would be ashame to say that the church shouldn't submit to christ because Christ is so good to the church. Similarly should be the relationship between the husband and wife. They become one thing so the husband should care for the wife as if it is himself.
