In this passage the writer is saying that Christ is how we are redeemed/forgiven from sin. This forgiveness was given to us as great riches. It wasn't given sparingly, but with fullness. These were all mysteries that in the proper time was revealed to us. This redemption was all according to God's plan. The believers that believe are given the Holy Spirit as an indication of our salvation. The redemption of God's people glorify him.
From this passage I can learn that our redemption wasn't something that chance or happenstance, but something that was planned and to God's glory and pleasure. It's something to consider that God doesn't just give us this redemption sparingly, but He wants us to experience it in richness. What a wonderful gift we can receive. Glory and thankfulness to God should be the right response to our situation. We shouldn't forget this.
