Verse 21 & 25: both these verses talk about a foolish son. These are for a fool to learn from. Theres not really much wisdom if the father know this because he already knows it. But the foolish son is the one who should realize and turn from his ways. It's hard to look at oneself and change.
Verse 22: a cheerful heart is like medicine. It has the ability to heal. A crushed spirit is like a disease. It has terrible effects. How does one get to a cheerful heart. I'd start with thankfulness. From there maybe open mindedness toward cheerfulness. Surrounding yourself with people that will help you be cheerful. Many times people lock themselves away from the possibility.
Verse 28: silence is golden. Too many words just causes trouble. Too few words causes less. People are so quick to speak. We should think about what we say. Think very carefully because as james says the tongue can be like a fire ready to set a whole forest ablaze. It's hard to hold back sometimes but sometimes, many times, it's the better option.
