Amos 4:1-13

This passage seems like a pretty dark passage. Amos speaks strongly to Israel and warns them of their unfaithfulness. Part of his talk is about how wretched the Israelites have become. Part of his talk is how God tried to turn them back to him but they wouldn't listen.

Israel is in a really bad state here. They seem numb to everything and won't turn back to God for anything. God uses so many different circumstances so that they would call out to God. God probably does the same for us. It seems that many who complain of pain also are to numb to turn to God. What a shame that they are so close. All they have to do is look to God and things would be good. People are so selfish and blind.
