17) Kind of a summary of the next section of verses talking about how Israel acted. They sinned by rebelling.
18-31) The people of Israel kept testing God and God would fulfill their needs. Instead of thankfulness the people just complained more or asked for more. This caused God's anger to intensify. Their sin was that they didn't trust God or belive that God could save them. Even though God showed them miraculous things they still didn't believe. In the end God's patience with them ran out and he cut them down. This is true for us as well. God's patience has a limit. It is far reaching and gracious, but we should becareful in how we test it.
-I can learn from this by being thankful for what God is doing and has done in my life. Instead of complaining about every circumstance I can trust in God as my deliverer. It's easy not to trust in him, but my faith should grow.
