Saturday, Jan 2- 1 Corin 12:14-20

14Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.
-Kind of obvious statement, but full of truth to the body of Christ. It's never a one man show nor can it be.

15If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
-One problem the church suffers is people not being what they really are. This happens all the time. Part of the lesson is not to wast time being something you're not.

16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
-Even if someone tries to remove itself from the body it really can't. It is what it is and it is part of the body. What beauty there is in being the part that nobody else can be.

17If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
-There are problems with everyone wanting to be something else. People need to be what they are. This will make the body much more efficient and work correctly.

18But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
-God is the one doing the arranging. Nobody is wiser than him. We need to work in the bounds by which God has put us.

19If they were all one part, where would the body be?
-This is silly to think about from a practicle standpoint, but we fail at this many times within the church.

20As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
-So this is the final word. Many poeple, one body. Nothing we can do but live with it and make the best of it.
