Wednesday, March 25- Romans 3:21-31

21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
-Law and prophets testimony makes it true.
-Jesus is the one who has been made known. He makes a righteousness apart from the law. Good thing because nobody can be righteous thru the law.

22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,
-Faith/belief in Jesus is the path to righteousness. No other path.

23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
-This prescription is for all people.

24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
-Free is amazing. It could've cost something, but it didn't.

25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—
-Faith in blood=faith in his death.
-Justice was shown by punishing sins on the cross which hadn't been punished before.

26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
-w/o justice God doesn't make much sense. He needed to do this in order to become just for all time.

27Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith.
-boasting is left out because nobody can claim they did anything. Its faith in Jesus that does stuff.

28For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.
-This is how righteousness happens. Faith...not law.

29Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,
-God is everyones God. Not just the Jews.

30since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
-Faith makes us righteous. That doesn't mean we get rid of the law since it can't do that. Instead we live the law as best as possible.
-It really is amazing that God loves us. He didn't have to love the jews or gentile, but he did.
