Monday, March 16- Romans 1:26-32

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.
-Shows the extent of their depravity.

27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
-Passage shows disapproval for homosexuality. Kind of wonder what the due penalty was back then. Some sickness or was it just living in shameful depravity.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.
-More than just in action, in their minds they gave up the knowledge of God. God allowed them to fulfill their sinfulness as they so desired. It's terrible that they were close to the truth but decided to live a lie instead.

29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;
-These people indulge in sinfulness. The list of sin is very broad. Disobedience to parents kind of stands out from the list, but it must be a serious offense to be put near the other sinful acts. A world filled with this type of wickedness would be awful and very self-centered.

31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.
-This is what the wicked people lack. It's much the same with our society today. They may seem to have some of this, but really lack these more than they know.

32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
-I wonder why sinfulness is like this. We know its wrong, but we continue to walk in sinfulness. We have to be careful not to tread in these footsteps and also be even more careful not to approve of others sin. We can do this sometimes when we only worry about ourselves.

-This type of testimony of sinful man just shows how much the world needs a savior. Hopefully my heart aches more to see people saved from living in this type of depravity. There's only life in Christ and not the things of this world.
