Tuesday, March 24- Romans 3:19-20

19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
-This is something that we know. If we know the law we're under the law. In here it talks about the whole world being accountable. Guess that means in some way or another everyone knows the law. Previously it talked about the law being written on peoples hearts. Regardless of how we know it, there will be no talking back when God makes his final judgments. We will be silenced by his justice. I wonder if the silence will be because of fear in the accountability that we have.
-In the US we fight so much in our legal system. In heaven we won't say a word because we'll have no defense.

20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
-The law is powerless to make us righteous. Not a single person will be righteous because they follow the law. The law doesn't exist so that we can be righteous. If it did then Christ would have never needed to die. The reason the law exists is so that we know what sin is. To go from law to grace is an amazing thing.
