Sunday, March 22- Romans 3:1-8

1What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? 2Much in every way! First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.
-Just because the value of what they thought was in circumcision went down a bit it doesn't mean that their value as Jewish is lost. They were entrusted with the words of God. They have always been God's chosen people.

3What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness? 4Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written:
"So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."
-Answer to the question is no. God's faithfulness will always override whatever we do. God will always be right.

5But if our unrighteousness brings out God's righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)
-The argument says that it's good that we're unrighteous because it glorifies God more. Like putting something ugly next to something beautiful so the beautiful will look even better. Because of this the argument says that we shouldn't be punished for making God look better.

6Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world?
-This would be illogical to do because then there would be no wrong in sin and everyman could do as he pleases.

7Someone might argue, "If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?"
-Illustrated by this question. But this question doesn't make much sense if we think about it a bit.

8Why not say—as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say—"Let us do evil that good may result"? Their condemnation is deserved.
-This comment is not truth. No good results from evil. It may be true that God is glorified by evil, but this is only glorification thru the punishment of it. He does not approve of it or like it.

-It's crazy how people twist words so that they can justify themselves or make sin okay. Sin is what it is and God is who he is. They will never be in harmony together.
