Genesis 19:1-29

In this passage the 2 men go to sodom. Lot recognizes them as VIP. We get a picture of how sinful and wicked the city had become. so much so that they wanted to rape the visitors. What a crazy perverted society. So much so that even the offer of Lot's daughters weren't enough to quench their desire for the men. The men instructed Lot and family to leave the town and head to the mountain. There was something about running to the mountains that wasn't good for Lot so he negotiated to run to a small town. The men allow this and they leave to go to the town. I wonder if lot just thinks it's to far or if he just craves civilization or if he thinks he can go back home later. Whatever the case his wife turned back to the town. This is how sin is sometimes. It draaws us in and if we can't make a clean break at the right time it'll get us. When God says to run we should know to run and never turn around. it's hard when we have so much of life vested in an area or people, but if its unrighteous and unholy it's better to just leave it behind. The 2 men had to start dragging Lot out before he understood to go. That's how tied they were. Maybe they didn't love the culture, but they were used to it.
