1 Corinthians 2:9-16

In this passage it again talks more about how God's wisdom is something that we wouldn't have come upon ourselves, but is revealed by the spirit. It takes a person with the spirit to understand the things of God. Without the Spirit it'll just be foolishness. I think this is a very simple reason to pray as we do any type of ministry. It's not by us that people understand in the end it is the Spirit that does it. We need to ask God. Amazingly God gives us his mind through the Spirit, but we need to double check everything by the word. So trust in the Spirit of God even when we have no clue.
