Luke 2:22-35

In this passage Jesus is presented at Jerusalem and a sacrifice was given for him Sacrificial system was pretty brutal. Even in presenting babies a sin offering needed to be given. As Jesus was brought there some man named Simeon praised God for him testifying about who Jesus was and what he would do. More confirmation about this miraculous baby. Simeon also prophesied some things about Jesus. It seems as though this prophecy still comes true today. Many are divided over him and hearts are revealed because of him. Kind of scary in many ways. It wasn't just a prophecy where he would rule as king, but a very dividing prophecy. As we walk through this holiday season hopefully we are challenged by Jesus and who he is. He came to challenge our hearts and to show us what's in it. Unfortunately what is shown about it is often ignored instead of accepted. Thank you Jesus for being clear.
