This passage teaches us first to offer a sacrifice of praise. Thats a different way to think about praise. Praise as a sacrifice or offering to God. Doing good and sharing with others are also sacrifices. Sacrifices aren't just things we give up or kill on an alter but these things as well. They please God.
In addition we're given instruction on how to treat our leaders. We should make their job a joy as much as possible. Sometimes people neglect to think about how they make their leaders feel, but this is important if ministry is going to run properly. We should take extra effort to make our leaders appreciated.
In the end Paul prays that God would equip them to do the works God intends. This is always important to remember that it is only through God that we can do the things we do. Only through God.
