Hebrews 13:9-14
In this passage it talks about a warning not to go along with strange teachings. In this example it was about ceremonial foods that they ate. In the end food is just food, but real growth comes through grace. Basically what this comes down to for us is that we need to be careful of legalism and traditions that stray away from what scripture really teaches. This happens a lot in the church. All of it probably starts with good intentions, but people let it get away to becoming some sort of law or rule for righteousness. We just need to make sure that we keep apples apples and oranges oranges. And also think about what we're doing. Like the routines and activities. Tradition is a powerful thing. We do things lots of times just because that's how it's always been done. Sometimes that's great but sometimes we need to investigate.
