-In this passage Jesus speaks to the church in laodicea. He tells them that he knows that they are lukewarm in thier deeds. God doesn't like this very much. This church thinks they are rich, but they aren't rich in heavenly things...only worthless earthly things. They are told to by gold that will last. Their current lifestyle is shameful and makes them blind to reality. They are told to repent. Got rebukes those he loves. Jesus is waiting to hear from them.
-From this passage I can learn to be aware of possible spirtual blindness. It's so easy to get caught up in this world and be comfortable with its riches. I need to be aware and make sure that i'm storing up treasure in heaven and not on earth. It would be sad to arrive in heaven and be naked and blind to all that was really important. God displines and rebukes those he loves...he will help us get there. But for now, try to be hot for God.
