Wednesday, Feb 4- Matthew 9:18-25

18While he was saying this, a ruler came and knelt before him and said, "My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live."
-Overall this seems like a totally busy day for Jesus. There must've been a lot of days like this.
-This ruler shows great faith in Jesus. Faith from desperation perhaps?

19Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.
-Jesus really had the choice to go or not go. Luckily for the man he chooses to go. We should be thankful that Jesus goes.

20Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.
-Mid story Jesus gets interrupted by someone else. There are so many people with needs. We need to be aware of even the people that sneak up and are hiding with needs. These people need help also even though they are scared to ask for it sometimes. Why scared? maybe it was embarrassing or she was just shy. Whatever we need to help the visible and invisible.

21She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."

22Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.
-Jesus not only heals her but has a conversation with her.

23When Jesus entered the ruler's house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd,
-Back to the ruler's story. Jesus surveys the scene. Looks like a funeral or something like it is going on.

24he said, "Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep." But they laughed at him.
-It must have sounded crazy and the crowd reacts like wise.

25After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.
-Jesus deals with everyone so uniquely. We should probably realize its the same for us. Jesus cares for us individually and meets are needs individually.

26News of this spread through all that region.
-Girl rising from the dead. Jesus has power over even death. Of course this news would spread. We should be spreading the same news in our regions. Christ rose from the dead. He gave us life from death. This message needs to get out just as much as this girls message.
