25At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
-Jesus give praise to God. The reason for praise: things are hidden from the wise, but revealed to the children. Seems like an odd reason to praise God, but the wise are not really wise but arrogant. They think they are smart, but become fools because they can't except the gospel.
26Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
-God does this to his purpose. Who can argue with what God wants.
27"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
-Everything has been pt into Christs control. The authority he has is from God.
-It's weird how this is all so mysterious in some ways. `Jesus is the one who reveals God to people by his choice.
28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
-Here's the call to all who can hear. If you're tired of this life He will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
-Rest isn't total laziness, but a different yoke. The yoke is for the soul.
-We all need to humbly accept the yoke that he gives to us. Whatever the work involved is it's lighter than this worlds load.
30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
-Description of the yoke is easy and light.
-Our soul is secure when we have Christ's yoke on. We have eternal life so there is little to fear.
